Tulsa, Oklahoma, April 12, 2018 – Kathy Bigger, Principal Process Engineer at Linde Engineering North America Inc. (LENA) will present a comparison of approaches to usage of nitrogen rejection units (NRUs) in natural gas liquids (NGL) processing plants. GPA Midstream will take place April 15-18 in Austin, TX.
Typically installed on high pressure residue pipelines downstream of NGL plants, NRUs remove or reduce the nitrogen content (considered a contaminant) in natural gas to decrease pipeline transport volume and condition the gas to meet fuel specifications. Bigger will share an alternative that integrates an NRU into an existing or grass roots NGL plant, illustrating the advantages of this approach over the traditional method. “LENA’s integrated solution provides capital and operating savings to owners,” said Arturo Puigbo, Vice President Sales & Technology, Natural Gas Division. “Along with reduction in construction costs, energy savings are also achieved via total lower compressor horsepower requirements. This solution can be applied across a range of NGL core technologies, including RSV and GSP.”
LENA will also feature a host of technologies for NGL processing at its booth at the opening reception on Sunday evening, April 15 and during its hospitality event on Tuesday evening, April 17.
